$2555.00

Overview

Mount Kilimanjaro, standing at 5,895 meters (19,341 feet), is Africa’s highest peak and a dream destination for trekkers worldwide. The Umbwe Route is known as the most challenging and steepest route to the summit, often chosen by experienced climbers looking for a direct and tough ascent. This route is less crowded, offering a more solitary experience, but it demands a high level of physical fitness and mental determination.

The Umbwe Route is notable for its rapid altitude gain, which makes it less ideal for acclimatization, and thus, it is recommended for trekkers with prior high-altitude trekking experience. The route begins in the dense rainforest before ascending sharply through the heather and moorland zones and eventually reaching the alpine desert. The final push to the summit follows the Southern Circuit and approaches Uhuru Peak from the east.
