  1. Serengeti National Park:
    Serengeti is one of the most iconic wildlife destinations in the world. It is renowned for its endless plains, the Great Wildebeest Migration, and the incredible abundance of wildlife year-round. The park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the Big Five(lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhinoceros), along with cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and a wide variety of bird species. Serengeti offers diverse landscapes, from the grasslands of the Seronera Valley to the forests and riverine areas, providing exceptional game viewing opportunities throughout the year.

    Ngorongoro is a collapsed volcanic calderaand the world’s largest intact volcanic crater. It is considered one of the best places in Africa for wildlife viewing, as the animals live in a compact area with high chances of seeing the Big Five in a single day. The Ngorongoro Crater is home to a wide range of wildlife, including rhinoselephantslions, and buffaloes, as well as bird species like flamingos. The landscape is dramatic, with steep crater walls rising up from the floor, which is dotted with wetlands, savannahs, and forests.

Day 1: Arrival at Arusha & Transfer to Serengeti National Park

  • Pick-up:
    Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)or Arusha Airport, you will be met by your professional driver-guide who will assist with your transfer. The drive from Arusha to the Serengeti is about 6-7 hours, depending on road conditions and the lodge you are staying at in the Serengeti. The route is scenic, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you might already see wildlife such as giraffes and zebras along the roadside.
  • Scenic Lunch Stop:
    You’ll make a stop for lunch either at a rest area or at your accommodation upon arrival at Serengeti. This break will give you time to enjoy the beautiful views and prepare for the safari activities ahead.
  • Afternoon Game Drive:
    After lunch, you’ll embark on your first afternoon game drivein Serengeti. Serengeti’s wildlife is rich and varied, and you’ll likely encounter herds of wildebeestszebras, and gazelles. If you’re in the park during migration season (typically between June and October), you’ll be able to witness the wildebeest migration, one of the greatest natural phenomena on earth, as these animals traverse the vast plains in search of fresh grazing.
  • Overnight:
    You’ll spend the night at a lodge or tented camplocated within or near Serengeti National Park. You’ll enjoy a delicious dinner while reflecting on your first safari experience.

Day 2: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

  • Early Morning Game Drive:
    Rise early for a morning game drivein Serengeti. The early hours are when the animals are most active, especially the predators. This is an excellent time to look for lions on the hunt, leopards lounging in trees, and cheetahs sprinting across the plains. Serengeti is home to large numbers of big cats, and early morning is the best time to witness their behavior.
  • Picnic Lunch in Serengeti:
    After a few hours of game viewing, you’ll enjoy a picnic lunchin the park. This allows you to fully immerse yourself in the surroundings while observing wildlife from a safe and scenic location. Your guide will find a quiet spot for you to relax and refresh before continuing with your safari.
  • Afternoon Game Drive:
    In the afternoon, continue with your game drive, focusing on different areas of the Serengeti depending on wildlife activity and seasonal migration patterns. You may visit the Seronera Valley, known for its concentration of predators, or explore the western corridor, home to many herbivores and some of the park’s most dramatic river crossings during the migration.
  • Overnight:
    Return to your lodge or tented camp in Serengeti for the night. Serengeti lodges and camps provide excellent accommodations with luxurious or rustic settings that blend well with the surrounding nature.

Day 3: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

  • Morning Game Drive:
    Another early morning game drivewill take you to areas you haven’t yet explored in Serengeti. Depending on the season, you may encounter migrating wildebeests, herds of buffaloes, and large carnivores like hyenas or wild dogs. If you’re lucky, you might even witness a predator chase, which makes for some thrilling moments.
  • Midday Rest and Lunch:
    You’ll have a break at your lodge for lunchand relaxation. Midday is typically quieter for wildlife viewing, so this is a perfect time to rest and enjoy the environment.
  • Afternoon Game Drive:
    Your afternoon game drive will take you to explore the northern or southern Serengeti, depending on the wildlife distribution at the time of your visit. Serengeti is known for its vastness and diversity, and during this drive, you’ll have the chance to see animals in a variety of ecosystems, including wooded areasgrassy plains, and rivers.
  • Optional Activities:
    If available, you might have the option to do a hot air balloon rideat dawn for a bird’s-eye view of the Serengeti plains, or enjoy a walking safari with a trained ranger, which allows you to experience the wilderness up close.
  • Overnight:

Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

  • Morning Game Drive:
    After breakfast, you’ll enjoy a final game drivein Serengeti before you head to Ngorongoro Crater. The morning is the best time to spot animals, and you may encounter a lion pride or other wildlife before departing for the crater.
  • Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater:
    After the game drive, you’ll embark on a 4-5 hour driveto Ngorongoro Crater. The journey will take you through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with stunning views of the Ngorongoro Highlands. Along the way, you may see Maasai herders and cattle, and your guide will provide insight into the area’s history and culture.
  • Lunch:
    Upon arrival at the Ngorongoro Crater, you’ll check in to your lodge, where you can relax and have lunch. Many lodges on the crater rim offer spectacular views of the crater floor below.
  • Overnight:
    You’ll spend the night at a lodge perched on the rim of the crater. The view of the vast crater from your lodge is an unforgettable sight, especially at sunset.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Exploration & Return to Arusha

  • Early Morning Descent into Ngorongoro Crater:
    On your final day, you’ll wake up early to descend into Ngorongoro Craterfor a half-day game drive. The descent takes about 30 minutes, and once on the floor of the crater, you’ll be surrounded by a rich variety of wildlife. The crater floor is home to a high concentration of animals, including black rhinoslionselephantsbuffaloes, and wildebeests. You will also encounter birdlife, such as flamingos at the soda lakes.
  • Picnic Lunch in the Crater:
    picnic lunchwill be enjoyed in the crater, allowing you to relax and observe the wildlife in this unique environment.
  • Return to Arusha:
    After your exciting day in the crater, you’ll ascend the crater rim and start your journey back to Arusha(approximately 3 hours). Upon arrival, you can either head directly to the airport for your outbound flight
